Youth Ney Naturalist (6th to 12th graders) MN River Canoe Trip!
Sunday, Oct. 26th Free – Event!

The Ney Nature Center (NNC) in partnership with Wilderness Inquiry (WI) will be hosting a MN River canoe trip in 24-foot handmade Voyageur canoes!
Space is limited to 20 students so contact the Ney Nature Center to reserve your “paddle”!
We launch from River Park in Le Sueur at 1pm and come ashore at the Henderson boat landing at approximately 4:30pm.
Reservations and a signed waiver form is required to participate and can be downloaded at or contact the NNC office at 507-248-3474.

MS Halloween Dance on Friday from 7 t o 10pm.

Attention 6th Graders….
Wrestling Registration and Practice for the 2014-15 Season - 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Practice will be each Tuesday and Thursday except for Thanksgiving Day starting October 23rd-December 18th, 2014
(Advanced individual and team competition will continue after the holiday break. An additional fee for a MN/USA card will need to be purchased IF athletes choose to continue. More information on MN/USA competition and the second half of the season will be shared during the first week of practice)

We will be hosting several Career Cafes with local professionals this month. Bring your lunch to the career center at 11:20 to hear about jobs in:
-Engineering (structural & architectural) today, Friday, Oct. 24
-Computer Graphics & Animation on Tuesday, Oct. 28
-Nursing on Wednesday, Oct. 29

October is College Knowledge Month in Minnesota and we'll be hosting a college scavenger hunt all week. Turn in your answers today to the main office.
Questions and blank answer sheets are posted on the library windows.

Today's College Knowledge Month Scavenger Hunt question is:
Many LSH staff have attended private colleges. Name as many of the staff and their schools as you can. (Hint: there are 6 or more!)
Turn in your completed answer sheets to the main office today. The winner with the most correct answers will be announced next week.

Gustavus Adolphus will be visiting LSH on Tuesday, October 28 at 8:45. Any juniors or seniors who are interested in learning more about Gustavus, please sign up on the door to the career center. Empire Beauty School is also coming next Tuesday at 9:00. Sign up on the career center door.

Celebrate My Drive - Today is the last day to vote! Keep Voting! Results will be announced next week! Anyone who voted all 10 days, please stop in the office to enter for Garth Brooks tickets.

NHS sign up in Ms Hynes room for Rake & Paint and the Halloween Carnival.

The US Navy will be visiting today during lunch. Stop by their table in the cafeteria if you have questions about enlisting.

Seniors – Your graduation orders (caps, gowns, invites, etc.) are due next Tursday, Oct. 30th. Also, all seniors please stop in the office and approve the spelling of your name as how it will appear on your diploma.

Play announcement: All play class members who were not at practice yesterday need to see Mrs. Kreft during the school day. Rehearsal after school from 3:10-6:30 and on Saturday from 9:30-3:30 for the entire cast.

You can then start looking at pictures, editing the pictures—lightening them, cropping them, adding borders etc., and ordering them.
Activity passes may be purchased in the HS office or at any home game.
Cost is $30 for students and $75 for adults.
This pass will get you into all LSH home athletic contests for the 2014-15 school year. (This does NOT include tournaments.)

All 7 - 8th grade football players who have not turned in their White and/or Blue uniforms should do so this week. Give to Mr. Marcussen or Mr. Lewis.

All boys basketball players in grades 8 - 12 should see Mr. Marcussen sometime today regarding team shooting shirts and travel suits.

Football players in grades 10-12 MUST wash and turn in their uniforms and equipment after school on Monday 10-27-14.

There will be a meeting for girls in grades 9-12 going out for basketball on Monday after school in Mrs. Fritz's room.
