Drawing I 
Drawing I Grades 9-12 One quarter Elective 1/2 credit Prerequisite: Introduction to Art As a student in the Drawing I art class, you will have the opportunity to develop and build skills by using a variety of drawing mediums, such as, pastel, charcoal, pencil, ink, etc. You will be learning perspective, composition and basic drawing skills. Through analysis, you will understand the validity of different styles or art and develop open-mindedness. You will produce a variety of visual images, some with practical function, some simulating existing styles of art, and others exploring your own style. We will utilize slides, videos, and, if possible, field trips to enhance your study of art.

Intro to Art 
Grades 9-12 One quarter Elective 1/2 credit In this course, students will create a series of projects that will emphasize learning about significant events, styles, movements, artists and works of art both past and present. Using techniques, materials and concepts that best relate to specific historical periods, students will create works of art that will help them begin to gain an understanding and appreciation of art history. Students will develop their own creativity and technical skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and graphic arts.

Painting I Grades 9-12 One quarter Elective 1/2 credit Prerequisite: Introduction to Art As a student in Painting I art class, you will have the opportunity to develop and build skills in acrylic and watercolor art mediums. You will be learning a variety of techniques, skills, and styles to enhance your artwork. You will be simulating existing styles of art, and exploring your own unique style. You will also analyze and understand different styles of art to develop open-mindedness.

Sculpture I 
Sculpture I Grades 9-12 One quarter Elective 1/2 credit Prerequisite: Introduction to Art Sculpture I art class will focus on the three-dimensional art form. You will develop a familiarity with various media and tools and will have the opportunity to produce imaginative and expressive works. You will become familiar with a variety of art styles from many cultures and periods in history and demonstrate an increased expressive ability that will help you to explore your own unique style.
