Prerequisite: 7th and 8th grade band
The senior high band emphasizes the development of musical knowledge, perception and comprehension through performance. Students will learn a variety of musical and rehearsal techniques necessary to elevate individual and group performance to an artistic level. Elements of music theory and history are discussed and applied to a diverse selection of wind band literature.

The band performs 4 concerts each year, participates in the MSHSL large group contest and tour out of state every other year. Other performance opportunities for band members include pep band, jazz ensemble, marching band and solo/ensemble contests.

There is a rental fee for all students using school owned instruments.

The above senior high choirs (concert and women’s) provide students with an opportunity to sing, understand, and appreciate music from a wide variety of styles, cultures, and historical periods. Emphasis will be placed on increasing the proficiency of each singer in an individual and ensemble setting by developing skills in sightreading and music theory, and enhancing the level of musicianship in rehearsal and performance. The choirs perform at several concerts, community events, and at area schools throughout the year. Voice lessons and solo/ensemble activities are available to interested students.
