Women's Choir 
Women’s Choir Grades 9-12 Full year Elective 1 credit Prerequisite: Auditions Both senior high choirs provide students with an opportunity to sing, understand, and appreciate music from a wide variety of styles, cultures, and historical periods. Emphasis will be placed on increasing the proficiency of each singer in an individual and ensemble setting by developing skills in sight reading and music theory, and enhancing the level of musicianship in rehearsal and performance. The choirs perform at several concerts, community events, and at area schools throughout the year. Voice lessons and solo and ensemble activities are available to interested students.

Syllabus

Music Appreciation 6 
Music Appreciation is designed to be a class that allows students to have additional exposure to the study of a variety of styles of music and to learn the fundamentals of how music is put together. This class will teach the basic elements of what makes music work. We will explore, through listening and other projects, how music is developed and put together, what makes sound happened, and how sounds are organized to make music.
