Art 6 Required One Quarter

The sixth grade art students will develop their knowledge of the design elements and explore creative ways of applying these concepts to their art work. They explore a variety of disciplines that may include: graphic design, drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture. The students develop skill in the use of media and solving problems creatively. The students will develop awareness of the roles of visual are in a variety of cultures and time periods.

Art 7 Required One Quarter

The seventh grade art students will continue to develop their knowledge of the elements and principles of design and apply these concepts to the creation of art works. They explore a variety of disciplines that may include: drawing, sketchbooks, graphic design, printmaking, painting,book arts, ceramics and sculpture. The students develop skill in the use of media as well as creative expression. The students will develop awareness of the roles of visual art and artists in our society.

Art 8 Required One Quarter

The eighth grade art students build on their understanding of the elements and principles of design by applying them to the creation of art works. They explore a variety of disciplines that may include: drawing, painting, graphic design, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and sketchbooks. The students continue to develop technical skills and creativity. The students will explore the roles of visual art and artists throughout history and in present day.
